InterConnection is excited to be partnered with Avanade, the leading digital innovator on the Microsoft ecosystem, to provide technology to people in need.

Avanade’s Citizenship Mission is to enable young people and their communities to do more through the power of people and digital innovation— to make genuine human impact— and the work we are doing together, really hits the mark!

Through the Avanade Tech Grant program, we aim to connect even more underserved youth to vital technology. We are awarding tech grants in the form of refurbished computers to nonprofits serving youth through education, whose work and mission aligns with our joint values and goals, so they can accelerate their social impact and better serve their community.

COVID-19 Response

Avanade is partnering with local nonprofits by donating technology to families in need during school closures related to COVID-19. By taking a leadership role at the beginning of the stay-at-home order, this program provided computers to 120+ families. Following social distancing guidelines, some deliveries and pick-ups were coordinated using a drive-thru system. InterConnection provides a one-year replacement warranty for each computer and offers technical support over phone and email ensuring customers successfully adopt this new technology in their home.

During the “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order, Avanade and InterConnection continue their work in bridging the digital divide by providing computers to families in need.

Geekin’ Out challenge

We Challenged Avanade Tech Grant Recipients to tell us how they are using their new technology for school and extracurricular S.T.E.M. activities in the #GeekinOutChallenge this summer! We wanted to know how the young technology recipients were benefiting from the technology and to send us a picture or video showing us how they were putting the tech to good use. We received some fantastic responses—and a big ‘thank you’ goes out to everyone who took part.

There can only be one winner- congratulations go to Asam!

#GeekinOutChallenge winner Asam said, “With the laptop I received, I was able to complete my school since it became online due to Coronavirus. I also began learning python, and with that I was able to make a program that when run, would open a browser, and login to an Instagram account. I have tried to learn some coding before, but this is really the first time that I was able to make something that I actually thought was cool!”
