Warehouse Associate
InterConnection is seeking a Warehouse Associate to sort and organize inbound donations of used electronics, package and ship laptops and devices, and assist in maintaining our warehouse in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle. These are all key activities in advancing our mission to provide technology and connectivity to people living on low incomes through environmentally sound refurbishment, re-use, and recycling.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Receiving Donations: Receive, count, and sort electronic donations that are dropped off by individuals as well as truckload deliveries from local corporations. For corporate donations, we need an accurate count of specific items donated to provide back to the donor.
- Donor Greeting: Engage with customers who drop off items in a friendly, polite manner.
- Warehouse Organization: Lifting, loading, off-loading & staging materials throughout the day, with manual pallet jack as well as manual off-loading. Electric Pallet Jack or Forklift training is not required.
- Outbound shipping: Assist with outbound shipping of packages to customers as well as preparing and loading pallets for freight transport.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more
- Current forklift license and experience with a pallet jack desired, but not required
- Familiarity with warehousing practices and methods desired, but not required
- Driver’s License with a clean driving record is desired
Additional Requirements:
All employees must complete a criminal background check and complete I-9 verification upon hire.
Compensation:
This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position, working in a warehouse environment, with a consistent daytime workday schedule. Pay range is $20-$21/hr. Benefits include generous paid time off; health, vision, and dental insurance; 401(k); and a subsidized bus pass. InterConnection is located in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle and is easily accessed by bus.
