InterConnection has recently partnered with Everyone On, who like InterConnection is a national nonprofit working to eliminate the digital divide. Everyone On works to make high speed, low-cost Internet service and affordable technology, along with free digital literacy courses available to all unconnected Americans. InterConnection and Everyone On have partnered to bring affordable laptops and desktops to those in need across the country.
According to the Census Bureau, 1 in 4 U.S. households are still without access to the Internet. Low-income and minority communities are hit the hardest. Everyone On, a resource for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s new ConnectHome program, currently features both laptops and desktop packages from InterConnection on their website, making it easier for people to find the technology they need.
Gaining access to affordable technology is a major struggle for many. We understand the plight of those lacking technology. It is becoming essential to have access to updated technology in order to find jobs, access health records, do homework or stay free tickets episode in contact with loved ones. Worse yet, underserved individuals who lack technology are at risk of following behind. By working together we can help prevent this from happening, by offering high quality, inexpensive laptops and computers to citizens nationwide.
