NEWSInterConnection and TechSoup, a leading distributor of technology products to nonprofits, partnered to help close the gap between corporations with surplus computers and nonprofits in need of technology assets. SEE PRODUCT
InterConnection was selected by TechSoup to be the only nonprofit organization in the nation to provide computers for TechSoup’s Refurbished Computer Initiative Program.
InterConnection, based in Seattle, picks up surplus computer equipment from businesses, refurbishes it, and distributes computers to nonprofits and charitable organizations in the U.S. and worldwide. TechSoup recognized the quality of refurbished computers provided by InterConnection and chose to offer their product to qualifying nonprofits. The partnership creates yet another avenue where surplus computer equipment from businesses, donated to InterConnection, will be provided to the nonprofit sector for reuse.
InterConnection, which currently refurbishes approximately 5,000 computers per year, expects to ship an additional 400 computers per month as a result of this partnership. All computers refurbished by InterConnection pass a series of diagnostic tests and are reinstalled with licensed Microsoft software.
The partnership between InterConnection and TechSoup ensures a corporation’s
donation will be used for charitable purposes. InterConnection addresses the
primary concerns to computer donations: data security and an easy, cost-free
process.
Nonprofits that order from TechSoup may now get a refurbished computer from
InterConnection’s corporate computer donors including Nintendo, Alaska Airlines,
Real Networks or one of many other Seattle companies.
