InterConnection.org Makes Donating Your Old Laptop This Holiday Free and Easy Right from Home

New “Free Laptop Donation by Mail” helps you print, pack and ship your old laptop free of charge from anywhere in the USA and transforms it into a vital tool for underserved people and humanitarian organizations around the world.

Donate laptop by mailSEATTLE — November 22, 2010 — Today InterConnection.org, a Seattle non-profit committed to technology reuse for social good, announced Free Laptop Donation by Mail. This new program is designed to break down the barriers for home technology recycling this holiday season, making it easy to turn tech trash into tech treasure for people in the developing world who need better access to computers and information.

In Holiday 2009, Laptops made up 75% of all PCs sold to consumers according to IDC research. As more people buy new powerful laptops at record low prices this Black Friday, many don’t know where to take their old laptop for recycling, don’t have the time to drop it off, and are worried about how to protect and erase their personal data before recycling it. Free Laptop Donation by Mail from InterConnection.org solves these problems and makes it easy for anyone to print, pack and ship their old laptop from anywhere in the USA free of charge.

Laptops five years old or newer are valuable technology resources that can refurbished and given new life as vital tools for people and humanitarian organizations around the world.  And reusing a laptop is 20 times more effective in reducing greenhouse gases then recycling.

“The need for laptops has never been greater for both NGOs and individuals”, said Charles Brennick, founder and executive director of InterConnecton.org. “Free Laptop Donation By Mail offers consumers free and easy recycling, helps the environment with responsible reuse, and grows the supply of refurbished laptops.”
