Action Health Cameroon (AHC)
Activities Carried out:
- Health education in 10 secondary schools of
the North West Province since 1999 up to date, covering
a total youth population of 2000/ academic year.
- Design and contact of donors for the construction
of a mother & child care unit at Kouoptamo health centre
(in the West Province). The project shall start before December
2001, with the support of CAP Humanitaire, France.
- Raw plan of the mother and child care unit
is indicated above:
- This health education shall continue this academic
year with HIV/AIDS education in the North West secondary
schools.
- Supply of medical drugs to Kouoptamo health
centre with the support of CAP Humanitaire an NGO based
in France. (1997, 1999, 2000)
- Supply of children medical lenses to Kouoptamo
health centre (year 2000) with the support of CAP Humanitaire.

Trees are life project (TAL)
Profile: It is a project
for environmental education and planting of shade trees by
the schooling youths. This project is on since 1999 in the
West and North West Provinces. For year 2001/2002, we intended
to purchase this activity in 20 more schools.

Bee farming training (BFT)
Profile:It is a project assisting
rural unemployed youths on honey production, for self-employment
and revenue generating. The project consist of training, distribution
of hives, follow-up of the trainees and assistance for the
creation of community honey co-operative. Up to this point,
24 youths have been trained in Kouoptamo and these an urgent
need of funding for the creation of their cooperatives, since
more than 50 new youths are presently registered for coming
training session kin the same locality.

Agriculture training in secondary
schools (ATS)
Profile: It is a project
targeting student/teachers and students in secondary school,
for an initiation for agricultural production, urban agriculture,
agro-forestry and environmental protection.
Activities: They have
been carried out in GTC (government Teachers Training College)
Bamenda (year 2000) and in Full Gospel Secondary Schools Bamenda.

S.O.S. Needy adolescents(SNA)
Profile: To provide an opportunity
to this categoryof children to learn a petit trade and become
self-employed; in 1997, 25 out-of-school youths were put under
auto mechanic training by ICF; most of them have a permanent
revenue and some of them have open their own garage. What
a great achievement!
Cost of this project:
865 US$ was paid for their training during 18 months. In pipe,
we intend to train 30 dropped-out-of school teenagers' girls
for hair dressing and tailoring in 2002.
