OPEN DOORS BELIEVER'S CHAPEL PARTNERS WITH BELIZE CITY AFFILIATE

The Belize City Affiliate has hosted a number of groups that have contributed a great number of hours to its Labour of Love. Many of these groups consist of young people who are trying to make a difference in our society. Young people continue to be the core of volunteer work for the Belize City Affiliate.

Since 2002, young people from "Open Door Believers Chapel" have been volunteering in the construction of homes. To date the group has partnered with the affiliate and are planning to travel to Tyler, Texas to work with another church group in the construction of homes.

So far, these young people have embarked in a fundraising campaign named "AN ACT OF KINDNESS". The idea is that for each donation that the group receives the donors will get the opportunity to request that the youths perform charity work in their name e.g. visit the elderly, help serve at Mercy Kitchen, etc. The concept in itself is unique; which further goes to show the creativity of young people. Habitat for Humanity Belize is in full support of this group and makes an appeal for everyone to support this worthy cause.

The group plans to travel to Texas from July 18-23 of this year.
