House Renovation:

Three years ago Habitat for Humanity Belize embark on not only providing simple decent and affordable housing but also house renovations.

Students from Wesley College as a part of their community project work on a house renovation in the Port Loyola area; they replace a wooden stairs and repair the roof of this house.

They worked with lots of energy and vigour, at the end of the renovation they all said that the experience was very rewarding knowing that they could have work alongside the family, get hands on experience in construction and giving back to their community.

House Dedication

Rita Wilson a past volunteer, friend and long donor paid us a visit in March, 2007 on her visit she handed over the keys to Ms. Elorine Slusher and her family .   This was our 46th house, Ms. Slusher was overjoyed and express thanks to all those who made it possible for her to finally own a home.

Along with the Contractor & crew, partner family, local and international volunteers, Ms. Slusher along with some of her friends worked tirelessly on her house.  She did her sweat equity hours and sweat they did.

One afternoon we visited the worksite and she was not feeling well but she said that she will rest a bite and get back to work, with this in mind we would like to SALUTE her.

Ms. Marlene August also received the keys to her house in May 2007; it was a great day for us her children were on hand with her in  receiving the keys.   Her eldest son now in Junior College was the painter, at first he said it was a hard task but was grateful that he could have done this and he did a fabulous job.
