Sharing the Good News Up Dates
Habitat for Humanity Belize
embraces the new year 2002 with lots of enthusiasm and hope for great
accomplishments. Here are the
highlights from January to June 2002.
It’s the beginning of the new
year and we have been blessed with an increase of staff and the installation of
SUN Systems, accounting program used by all Habitat’s organizations around the
world. To operate this high tech
system we are privileged to have a new staff member in the person of Ms.
Stasia Soutar. Ms. Soutar is a
graduate from the University of Belize from the faculty of Business
Administrator. She will be working
in the National Office using her talents and skills to carry the accounts for
the organization. STASIA, on behalf
of Habitat for Humanity Belize we Welcome you wish you all the best on your new
assignment.
Training National & Affiliate

On January 14 our very own
Financial Consultant in the Area Office Mr. Cesar Solis visited Belize to
install Habitat’s Accounting Computerized System known as SUN. During his two
week visit in Belize Mr. Solis trained Ms. Soutar with the basic knowledge to
operate the program.
On January 28 Ms. Carla Sainsbury

orientation program for Habitat’s National Partners around Latin America and
the Caribbean. Ms. Sainsbury is
preparing to take over management of the Belize City Affiliate from our
International Partner Ms. Rita Wilson when she departs in March.
One of Habitat’s big supporters
over the years is Sister Brenda Gonzales from Sisters of Charity.
On February 3, 2002 Habitat Belize staff attended the farewell party
organize by the Sisters of Charity, given us the opportunity to say Farewell to
the good fairy Sister. GOOD LUCK Sister Brenda we all will MISS YOU.
After a series of meetings with
different communities the National Office is now closer to having a new
affiliate. On April 17, 2002 Mr.
Michael Sanchez and Albert Hoy members of the National Board accompanied the
National Coordinator Ms. Mirna Paul & IP Elisa Rivera to Independence
village. The team from the National
Office met with the formed Steering Committee and conducted the official visit
to the area. It is expected that IP
Elisa Rivera will relocate to that area to work closely with the steering
committee and help them to comply with all requirements to get affiliated to
Habitat Belize. KEEP WORKING YOU
GUYS!!!
